I qualified from Huddersfield Polytechnic’s School of Chiropody, (now Huddersfield University, School of Podiatry), in 1988. I have worked in the National Health Service for 18 years. During this period I gained a lot of experience in foot and lower limb complaints of both adults and children.

My specialist post within the NHS was in 'Biomechanics' i.e. watching people walk and helping to resolve chronic foot and lower limb pain. I also had a close working relationship with the physiotherapists in the NHS. We often combined together to help give the best overall care plan for our patients. I learned a lot from a physio’s perspective on how they address foot and lower limb pain.

In 2004 I gained my MSc in Clinical Podiatric Biomechanics from Staffordshire University. Having increased my knowledge base I then also needed to improve my 'hands-on' skills to help patients. I have completed courses on Acupuncture for the foot and lower limb and foot and ankle mobilisations and manipulations.

In April 2006 I bought a private chiropody practice in Morecambe. I have built the Practice up into full-time and can also provide the additional Podiatry skills as well as Chiropody treatment. I enjoy my work and look forward to helping patients.
